Conservatives Rout Liberal Democrats with 51 Councillors Elected

In conclusion to the hard fought campaign, residents of Windsor and Maidenhead have given their verdict at the polls. Returning 51 out of 57 councillors as Conservatives, residents in their thousands supported local Conservative candidates across every ward in the Borough, leaving just a handful of Independents and one Liberal Democrat remaining.

The True Cost Of Liberal Democrat Pledges

A detailed analysis of the Liberal Democrat manifesto shows that it could cost over a staggering 30 million pounds to implement. A large component of this is would be the £19,000,000 capital cost of the Windsor Park and Ride, based on 2007 figures. This figure does not include the £1 million pound running costs.
These figures make the Liberal Democrat pledge to freeze council tax over four years completely untenable.

Royal Borough Leisure Centres Among The Best In The Country

Two of the Council run leisure centres are rated in the top 10, out of 2500, in the country. This has only been possible with considerable investment from the Conservative run Council.
