Boyn Hill Ward, Maidenhead
Stuart was born in Maidenhead and enjoys a long-standing affinity with, and strong knowledge of, the local area. He lives in the fantastic ward of Boyn Hill where he was elected as a councillor in May 2015 where he also serves as Lead Member for Adult Social Care & Public Health having previously also served as Principal Member for Communications. Stuart is also the Council's Mental Health Champion and works closely with health partners across the NHS.
Stuart works in healthcare where he is an expert in pharmaceutical pricing and reimbursement, public affairs, market access and communications. He is trained as a senior health economist and health policy expert, and has over 12 years of experience specialising in public health and the NHS. Stuart hold a first class honours degree in Politics & Economics (University of Northumbria at Newcastle), a master’s degree with distinction in Health Economics (University of York) and an MBA with distinction in Business Administration (Imperial Business School). He has also served as a a member of the New Drugs Committee (NDC) for the Scottish Medicines Consortium (SMC) and currently sits a full voting member on the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) Appeals Panel. Stuart is Fellow of the Royal Society of Public Health and is trained in accountancy and financial audits.
Stuart is also a musician and songwriter. He is an enthusiastic sportsman, particularly football, cricket and golf, and a passionate supporter of his home town club Newcastle United. Stuart is a big fan of snooker and can often be found in Racks in Maidenhead trying to recreate the magic of Ronnie O'Sullivan.
